e-Governance - Memorandum of Objectives
Society of promotion
of e-governance is a registered society under the Society Act 1880.
The society has
been incorporated for the attainment of main objects, which inter -
alias are:-
a)
To promote the use of information and communication
technologies as a tool for providing good & transparent governance
with a view to facilitate efficient, transparent growth and
development in economy with the endeavor to make it available to
every citizen of the country.
b)
To strive itself to a position as an organization
committed to promote e- governance by combining the best that the
specialized institutions in the country have to offer, into a
holistic program.
c)
To assist transition to electronic government
(e-government) up to electronic democracy (e-democracy).
d)
To ensure it acts as a ‘force multiplier' to design
e-governance policies and programs that efficiently and
effectively:

Respond directly to citizen’s most pressing needs – including
education, health and employment – on a continuing basis;
·
Design services to meet the convenience of the citizens and not the
convenience of service providers;
·
The
citizen services are the best in kind – sharing good ideas, driving
down costs and above all delivering what they are supposed to.
e)
To promote good/transparent practice, enhance sharing
of learning experiences, dissemination of information and management
of knowledge in electronic government (eGovernment) and electronic
democracy (eDemocracy) amongst various human and institutional
networks and communities of interest in the Asia Pacific Region and
beyond.
f)
To conduct research and development activities for
developing electronic methods to upgrade/ reinvent traditional
notions of government, government transactions and democracy.
g)
To facilitate networking of communities of interest,
expertise and practice in the Asia Pacific Region and world-wide by
carrying out efforts for sharing and dissemination of information
,ideas, and management of knowledge.
h)
To carry out advisory and consultancy services,
Organize consultative seminars, workshops and colloquia and
roundtables; Implement research and development projects; and
facilitate specialist high-level training.
i)
To build facilities for imparting training ,
organizing programmes and carrying out research and development
activities for development of innovative e-governance practices.
j)
To perform all such other Acts as may be necessary
for the achievement and accomplishment of the above-mentioned main
aims and aims incidental or conducive to the attainment of main
objects of the society. |
